Life Elixir LLC was registered in California in 2015. Life Elixir is a research and development company dedicated to creating tools for biological programming based on our design of robotic cells and algorithms. Life Elixir seeks a grant for $10MM for the first year of development of the products described below.
WHAT SETS US APART FROM THE COMPETITION
Life Elixir developed a biological programming and cellular simulation package using the existing biological/chemical network technology. We can create detailed molecular, atomic, and subatomic models to develop treatments/drugs to target metastasis cellular motility. The competitors are currently limited to the individual knowledge of cellular proteins and cannot model the cytoskeletal machinery as a whole. We have invented a whole-cell model based on actin polymerization within a signaling network that ultimately controls cellular motions. We have created a method by implementing a realistic (though certainly simplified) model of mass action for protein-protein interactions, PPIs, we determine which nodes of the network are most critical for controlling actin polymerization and also which combinations of these nodes have most synergistic effect on the network functioning. Our approach helps to validate protein targets and combinations of targets for the design of effective anti-metastatic drugs.
